Doula is a near-future sci-fi that explores the violence of 'benevolent' systems and the cost of safety.
In a war-ravaged Lebanon, a pregnant woman named Sarah protects herself and her unborn baby from the risk of childbirth by summoning a trans-human Doula from a neighbouring techno-feudal state. But Sarah discovers that the Doula's help is conditional. The price of safety may be losing what matters most.
